Dr. Deen received his Medical Doctor degree from the St. Matthew’s University, School of Medicine in Grand Cayman and then completed a residency in Psychiatry at Creedmoor Psychiatric Center of Columbia University, School of Medicine in New York. He has experience treating patients in many different settings such as: emergency room, acute inpatient treatment, outpatient treatment, and long-term residential treatment programs for the severely, chronically mentally ill. His experience covers a broad spectrum of disorders. These include medical treatment for mood disorders such as depression and bipolar disorders, psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia and schizoaffective and other psychotic disorders. Also treated, are anxiety and panic disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, substance abuse disorders, and eating disorders.
Dr. Deen’s goal is to enhance his patients’ quality of life by providing thorough assessment, psycho-education, treatment, and care to reduce the symptoms and subsequent disabilities that may result from mental illness, so they can live more manageable and functional lives. He stays well informed of current treatments in the field of psychiatry; thus, he is able to offer a wide variety of diagnostic treatment options.
